Holy Sh*! - How did I never hear of Ike before this??? February 23, 2010 Bubba Guitar (Staten Island, NY) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I had never heard of Ike Reilly before this morning which is a damn sin and a microcosm of what's wrong with record companies and the music industry in general, here in this 'new' millenium. After doing a little reading it seems Ike had a 1 album stint on a 'major' label for his 2001 album "Salesmen & Racists" then was cut loose. He has a few albums under just his name and a few more under the Ike Reilly Assassination moniker. This collection here is a compilation taken from a few of those albums. It's wordy, gritty, rawkin' sarcastic streetwise Rock n' Roll, no frills, no top 40 production tricks, just passion, purpose and integrity...And I've only just come across the music, imagine how I'm gonna feel in a few months after I've gotten and digested all his albums. For a frame of reference I'd say Replacements'ish, Dylan with a better voice and more guitars, and more stuff like that, you get the point. But it's good, damn good. And it's free here. Smart move, hopefully a bunch of us who care about this stuff will give it a shot and discover someone worth discovering...Alrite, that's all I got for now. Later people...
This is great music. February 23, 2010 ded30188 (Georgia) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is a great album. I never heard of Ike Reilly but figured the price was right. Fantastic lyrics, matches my sense of humor. Nice upbeat tempo that go with some dark stories. Based on this album I'm a fan. Now I have to find more of his work.

...make this world spin around!
Full disclosure - I was an Ike fan before downloading this album, but this is a great compilation! This is an album you can play from front to back and not worry about skipping tracks.
I hope this act of gifting music will lead to more people hearing about this awesome music and checking out Ike and the band for some live shows.
Pass it along to your friends. They'll thank you!

I'd never heard of Ike Reilly and am always skeptical of free music ("You get what you pay for"), but this is a fantastically fun compilation. Love it!
I Like Ike! February 27, 2010 R. Reed (MA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I discovered Ike through a web site called [...], and was impressed enough by the samples I heard to download 3 of his albums! Not here though; save some $$ and go over to [...]. After you get Ike's Digital Collection, that is!
